9 Glenview Road Update

The deadline for applications is 2:00 PM March 12, 2010. Approximately 30 applications have been sent out to interested parties. Jane Desberg will update on status by email to the group on Friday. Susan Saunders warned that internet preapproval letters are worthless.

Approval of the sale of this property must go before Town Meeting in May. This is necessary because town-owned property sales fall under MGL 30B. If a buyer is found before Town Meeting, their commitment letter from the bank must cover the period after the Town vote. The Selectmen will also have to vote to dispose of this property prior to Town Meeting. Jane Desberg will follow up on this. A consultant is working with Jane on the affordable housing lottery for this home.

Wilber School Project

Jane Desberg updated the group. She has been in touch with Beacon Properties and they indicated that approximately 65 households applied for the 15 affordable units. All have been rented.

CPA Application

The CPC voted to approve the SHP application for $20,000 for a comprehensive study of town- owned land suitable for affordable development. A second CPC vote is necessary after which the proposal must be presented to the Finance Committee. Mary Tobin volunteered to present. The proposal will also have to be presented at Town Meeting.

Bella Estates (Formerly Hunter’s Ridge)

Jane has been in touch with Bob Shelmerdine, Intoccia’s attorney. Because they are using the clubhouse as a rental office, it will be “quite awhile” before this building can be turned into two units of affordable housing.

Changes to Open Meeting Law and State Ethics Requirements

Packets on new requirements for Town board members and others were distributed to the group. (See File). All board members must complete an online test and be certified by the Town Clerk.

New Business

Jane Desberg made a Motion to change the SHP meeting time from 7:30PM to 7:00PM. Seconded and Approved unanimously. Jane Desberg will advise non present members of change.
